01.06.03 Newark, N.J., January 6, 2003 –Titanium
Paintball, a division of Q&L Engineering, today announces
the launch of a new line of barrels call the Longbow SS. The
Longbow SS is a stainless steel version of the original
Titanium Longbow. The SS version has a stainless steel control
bore and an aluminum front end. The inside of the barrel has
the patent pending finish called Hardbore™ which is smoother
and harder than any finish available
today.
The new stainless
steel Longbows differ little from their titanium predecessor.
Both systems have the patent pending Hardbore internal finish
which give them unparalleled accuracy, consistency, and
durability. The main differences are in appearance, weight,
and price. The stainless version of the barrel has slightly
different milling and has a polished external finish rather
than a satin finish. It is only slightly heavier than the
titanium version thanks to the aluminum-over-stainless joint
design. The price for the Longbow SS is about $30 less than
its titanium counterpart. Both versions of the barrel are
interchangeable with existing aluminum front
ends.
Michael Quinn, vice president and co-owner
explains, “The Titanium Longbow was the flagship barrel for
our Hardbore technology. It was a no-compromise system for
performance, weight, and durability. With its success we
wanted to bring that technology to a broader market. To do
this we are providing a less expensive system while
maintaining the characteristics players were most interested
in. The Longbow SS has the same accuracy, consistency, and
virtually the same durability as the Titanium Longbow but with
a friendlier price tag and a new look.”
The Longbow SS™
has an interchangeable control bore and tip, allowing users to
switch bore sizes and lengths. Five bore sizes are planned as
well as a variety of tip lengths, styles and colors.
Manufacture’s suggested retail price (MSRP) for a barrel is
$109. Dealer inquiries are
welcome.
